Description
Amazonite in Smoky Quartz measures 1.25 inches long X .75 inches wide and 1.25 inches in height. The specimen weighs 1 ounce.
The main mineral in Colorado amazonite is microcline, a type of potassium feldspar. Amazonite is a gemstone with a blue-green color and a chemical composition of KAlSi₃O₈, which means it’s made of potassium, aluminum, silicon, and oxygen.
Colorado is known for its unique combination of amazonite and smoky quartz crystals. The contrast between the blue-green amazonite and the black smoky quartz makes these specimens highly sought after by collectors. The Crystal Peak District in Colorado has been producing some of the world’s finest amazonite and smoky quartz specimens since the late 1870s.
Colorado amazonite is special because it can be found in large, well-formed crystals, unlike the massive varieties found elsewhere. Much of Colorado’s amazonite can be found in the Pikes Peak granite.
Metaphysical properties: together, these stones foster a balanced emotional state crucial for handling daily stressors and significant life transitions. Smoky Quartz acts as a protective shield, absorbing negative energies and environmental stress, while Amazonite brings a layer of emotional tranquility, reducing anxiety and promoting harmony.
